This handmade basket is made by local artisan Sylvia Richardson. Sylvia's fiber art has been recognized nationally, and her work hangs in the National Quilt Museum and the Virginia Quilt Museum. She has always been driven to create, but this drive initially led her in many directions--a state she now calls "creative drift." About 30 years ago, that "drift" came to a half when Sylvia discovered fiber art and its endless possibilities. Through it, Sylvia has been able to satisfy her love of color combinations, texture, and creative design.
