It’s hard to beat a Bristol postcard by local artist Briana Morris!
Historic Bristol, TN/VA. The Bristol sign, containing 1,332 light-bulbs, was originally place atop a hardware store in 1920 to advertise the city and contained the slogan “PUSH! – THAT’S BRISTOL,” referring to hopes of continued growth and prosperity for the city. In 1915, the sign was moved to its current location, stretching across the state line. In 1921, a contest was held to choose a new slogan, with the winner being the current slogan, “A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE.”
